Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Ascendant Memory Trainer app ("Ascendant," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use it. We built Ascendant to be a simple, focused memory-training tool, and we designed it to collect as little information as possible.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Ascendant does not collect personal information that identifies you. Specifically, we do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any account credentials. You can use the app without signing in or creating a profile.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Your training data — including your progress through phases and rounds, scores, and your daily streak — is stored locally on your device so the app can remember where you left off. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us in a form that identifies you. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is removed with it.
3. Anonymous Analytics
To understand how the app is performing and to improve it over time, we use anonymous, aggregated analytics. This may include:
- Anonymous usage events, such as which phases are started or completed and how often the app is opened.
- General performance and stability information, such as crash reports and load times.
- Coarse, non-identifying technical details such as app version, device model, and operating system version.
This analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. We use it only to diagnose problems, measure overall engagement, and decide what to improve.
4. Apple App Store
When you download or use Ascendant, Apple may collect information in accordance with its own policies — for example, aggregate download and usage statistics provided to developers through App Store and App Analytics. This data is provided to us in aggregated, anonymized form. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
We may rely on reputable third-party providers to deliver the anonymous analytics and crash-reporting described above. These providers process only the limited, non-identifying information needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it to identify you. We do not sell your information, and Ascendant does not display third-party advertising.
6. Children's Privacy
Ascendant is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect it from children either. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information associated with the app. Because most of your data stays on your device and the analytics we use are anonymous, the privacy risk to you is minimal. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices
You can limit analytics collection at any time through your device settings. On iOS, you can review and adjust analytics sharing under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. You can also remove all locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
10. Contact Us
